Keuka lAKE

Keuka Lake is one of the major glacial lakes that make up the Finger Lakes region of New York State. The name "Keuka" came from the language of the native Iroquois tribes, and can be translated as "canoe landing" or "lake with an elbow". The lake has a very unique, distinctive "Y" shape, with a large bluff dividing the northern portion of the lake into two prongs. Keuka Lake is twenty miles long, two miles across at its widest point, and has a maximum depth of 187 feet. Its most renowned feature, however, is its crystal clear waters. Keuka Lake is said to be one of the cleanest lakes in the world. The surrounding area is known for its beautiful small towns, world-renowned vineyards, close-knit community, and abundance of summer activities such as fishing, swimming, biking, and water sports.
